Doors open: 22.00 h.
Guided groups meditation starts: 22.30 h
Be on time, because the door closes for 15 minutes.
Where music is the centre piece and art is life.
After two official events at WesterUnie and an exclusive ADE showcase alongside Behrouz’ Do Not Sit On The Furniture atop of the A’Dam Toren, The Gardens of Babylon returns with their biggest production to date, this time taking over De Marktkantine with a trio of Berlin talent – Acid Pauli, Chris Schwarzwelder, and Holger Hecler – set to guide the night. Just as moved and inspired by the dusty energy of the Black Rock Playa and the jungle heat of Tulum, as it is by the white sands of Ibiza and the industrial omnipotence of Brooklyn, The Gardens of Babylon now looks to inspire the Dutch capital with its growing community of like minded spiritual wanderers.
This night filled with mystical performances and visual dream effects is carried by the theme – The Ajna – or the third-eye chakra. Identified as the body’s sixth primary chakra, the Ajna is located between the eyebrows. As one’s physical eyes ar witness to life’s past and the present, it is the Ajna that provides a subconscious insight into the future. With that, The Gardens of Babylon chose this theme as a new year dawns, allowing opportunity for reflection, as well as a solid look forward for ourselves and our communities.
With a love affair for music dating back some four decades, Berlin’s Acid Pauli is the captain on this special night through bliss. Originally conceived as a forward thinking live set, the Acid Pauli project has now evolved into a multi sensory DJ performance at the forefront to the International spiritual house movement. Introduced to many via Damian Lazarus’ Day Zero jungle rave, this bespectacled pseudo-hippie has since spread his sonic vibes around the world, included performances at the likes of Fusion and Lethargy Festivals while also featuring on the lineups of top class dance brands Afterlife and Mosaic. It is, however, his Sunday night summertime soiree at HEART Ibiza that provides the best insight into Acid Pauli, taking one of the White Isle’s newest ventures and transforming it into a gathering place for wandering spirits.
As both a trained chef and a burgeoning DJ, Germany’s Chris Schwarzwälder completes the spiritual trinity of this The Gardens of Babylon editions. After well received EPs ‘Mirrors’ and ‘Akumel’ and productions on the likes of Katermukke, Marionette, and Platon Records, Chris’ metaphysical approach to dance music has fast made him a name to watch in Berlin’s spiritually fuelled house music scene.
Joining Acid Pauli will be Germany’s Holger Hecler, who can truly be considered a visionary within underground electronic music. With the beauty of a daydream, Holger’s take of minimal techno and deep house, represents the all important belief in the moment, as well as a hope for the future. Last seen in Amsterdam over ADE where he joined New York’s Bespoke Music, Holger, and his melodious diary, now return.
To see ‘The Ajna’ realised, the night’s musical selections will also be accompanied by complete and multi sensory approach to production featuring The Gardens of Babylon staple spiritual program alongside a night full of live art performances, reiki healings, tarot readings and much more. For The Gradens of Babylon, Art is Life, so embrace both as you’ve never done before with this unique, spiritualy-infused night.
